The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock’s portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of BlackRock’s index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and cutting-edge alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. MASS combines both world class alpha seeking capabilities and client service. The group strives to meet clients where they are - so clients can deliver for their stakeholders. Role Description

APAC MASS is growing its Taiwan team by hiring a Portfolio Manager to grow the onshore Mutual Funds / Discretionary Investment Account (DIA) business. Two key responsibilities are day-to-day portfolio management and presenting investment strategies and views to prospective and existing clients.

Given the focus on multi-asset approaches among our clients and within BlackRock, this role has considerable scope for the right individual to have an impact on both the success of the team as well as the broader MASS business. The successful candidate will possess outstanding attention to detail and is flexible, adaptable, and self-starting. Strong communication and social skills, including ability to deliver presentations and coordinate across multiple groups around the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Run Mutual Funds/DIAs comprised of ETFs and active funds that includes implementing investment strategies, trading client flows, rebalancing and drafting client reports
  • Ensure all portfolios conform to performance expectations, investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct 4-step investment process reports and other administrative affairs aligning with regulations and internal controls
  • Deliver investment insights and analysis on our investment mandates, including investment philosophy, process & positioning, performance, and attribution
  • Structure presentation materials for new business opportunities and responding to frequent client requests and queries
  • Partner with Client Business team to represent our capabilities and engage clients and prospects on BlackRock’s MASS products and solutions. Work alongside regional investment teams and product strategists to deliver an outstanding experience for clients, prospects and internal partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. CFA, FRM and/or CAIA designation or plan to pursue is helpful
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as the sole public fund manager for Fund of Funds
  • Flexible, adaptable and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and within a team in a highly collaborative, global environment
  • An entrepreneurial drive coupled with a desire to go above and beyond to deliver outstanding client experience
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences across levels of seniority
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to remain focused across a wide range of portfolio types and activities with strong risk management awareness
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin and English is crucial
  • Familiar with SITE/SICE regulations
  • Understanding of quantitative investment research and optimization techniques preferred
  • Familiar with Bloomberg and proficient in MS Office applications. Technical skills including Python, VBA and Tableau preferred
