Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with architecture performance modeling.
• Experience with C/C++/Python.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or 5 years of industry experience.
• Direct experience analyzing workloads on real systems or devices.
• Experience bringing up full software stacks including Android/ChromeOS, drivers, applications, application automation (test drivers).
• Experience in ASIC architecture performance analysis, tools, and simulators at different abstraction levels (Cycle Accurate, TLM, Functional).
• Knowledge of hardware performance monitors or profiling, and profiling/tracing tools in Android such as Systrace.
• Knowledge in one or more of these areas: CPU, GPU, ISP, Fabric, Memory, Caches, Camera, Video, Display, Security, compression, storage.

In this role, you will collaborate with software and hardware architects to characterize important computing workloads.

Responsibilities

• Write code to develop simulators and models to evaluate mobile usecases.
• Study the behavior and characterization of a variety of workloads, on both devices and simulators.
• Participate in architectural design and evaluation of silicon designs.
• Perform pre-silicon performance study and post-silicon validation.
• Communicate the analysis results in both qualitative and quantitative fashion.
