• The Manager of Product Safety shall be proficient in product safety regulations and lead development and management of company global product safety standards, product safety manual, restricted substances policy and product labeling guidelines.
• This leader will manage seasonal product safety line reviews by partnering with product development, Sourcing, Planning and GMS teams to identify and eliminate potential foreseeable safety defects. The Manager of product safety will facilitate and coordinate work across labeling, testing and other product stewardship functional areas.
• This manager will manage product safety requirements for by taking company global standards and translating them to internal standards, implementing these on company sourced, owned production, licensee products, and gift with purchase/promotional items. The individual engages cross-functional teams consisting of sourcing, labeling, Quality Management, GMS, legal and laboratory to develop guidance and procedures that ensure all global product safety and product standards are met.
• This position will directly lead the work on enhancing brand safety testing protocols aligning them with global product stewardship standards by conducting research and evaluating material and product test results. This role shall develop a cadence to select, prepare and coordinate shipment of products for targeted testing as scheduled for direct sourced and internal manufacturing products.
• The Manager of Product Safety will work on product defects, returns and complaints by isolating potential safety hazards, developing internal corrective action plans and implementing the action items to ensure product compliance of all products designed and placed in the market. This role will investigate accidents and injuries related to product, work closely with global product stewardship, legal and customer service to provide necessary information to manage saferproducts.gov, customer and consumer responses, product defect responses, etc.
• The Manager of product safety is responsible to communicate product defect response disposition with proper action plan to senior leadership in product supply and GMS.
• The Manager of Product Safety will lead the work on ensuring individuals and departments; inside of company and external suppliers, have the appropriate knowledge, training, and support to uphold their role in assuring product safety and the production of a compliant product.
• This role will manage the company’s targeted testing program from planning, implementing and communicating along with developing corrective action plans as needed.
• This role is responsible for product safety and chemical management evaluations of factories and suppliers, developing in-person audit protocols, creating corrective actions and ensuring factories and suppliers are trained/ educated on company requirements and meet our product safety guidelines.
• This role will develop and own a cadence for monthly and quarterly reporting/KPIs, tell clear, concise, and insightful stories from analysis to various internal and external audiences.
