Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience designing antennas for consumer electronics.
  • Experience with antenna design, antenna validation and debug, and manufacturing.
  • Experience using RF equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and communication test boxes).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Antenna, RF, or Electromagnetics.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCC, IC, CE, etc.) and their respective certification process.
  • Familiarity with wireless industry standards and specifications (e.g., 3GPP, CTIA, PTCRB, WiFi alliance, etc.).
  • Familiarity with schematic creation and PCB design/review tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. As an Antenna Design Engineer, you will be a part of our Hardware Design team building amazing Pixel products. In this role, you will design, optimize, and validate the antenna solutions across different wireless technologies (e.g., Cellular, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), WiFi/Bluetooth, Ultra-Wideband (UWB)) and collaborate closely with talented cross-functional teams in designing and manufacturing industry leading hardware products.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and validate the antenna solutions including Cellular, GNSS, WiFi/Bluetooth, UWB, and other applications for Pixel products.
  • Be responsible for antenna system development and validation while collaborating with cross-functional teams during product development and execution.
  • Conduct and analyze Over-the-Air (OTA) testing to evaluate product radiated performance.
  • Be responsible for any antenna related certification and compliance issues debug and corrective actions.
  • Design for high volume mass production and capable of supporting contracted manufacturers and vendors from prototype stage to mass production.
