Synergy Design is a Taiwan based company, provides professional and carrier grade 5G RAN solution to Telcom market. The Synergy’s RAN solution portfolio consists of aggregated as integrated gNB and disaggregated 5G RAN (O-CU, O-DU and O-RU), mainly on Small Cells (Outdoor and Indoor), Private Networks on both Sub-6GHz and mmWave frequencies. Synergy Design is now partnering with small cell equipment provider, system integrators, operators, private networks suppliers by offering commercialized, reliable and stable system.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in 4G/5G RAN, with at least 3+ years in 5G gNB design & development
• Excellent understanding and insight in 3GPP 4G and 5G specifications (RAN)
• Working experience on the LTE/5G Radio L2 procedures including like Scheduler, Link Adaptation, UL Power Control, Packet Scheduler/5QI, UL SyncLoss, Data plane (RLC, SCTP), multi-antenna techniques - or / both - Working knowledge in two or more L3 layers including RRC, PDCP, eGTPU, NRUP, X2AP, F1AP, NGAP and 3GPP defined call flows like handovers, measurements, cross over & roll back scenarios
• Strong on experience in C and or C++ programming language
• Excellent debugging capabilities on x86 and/or ARM platforms
• Good understanding of usage of security procedures and algorithms
• Working experience in system integration of various components like CN, CU, DU and RU

Preferred:

• Awareness of RRM concepts to be able to derive FH impacts due to RRM features, e.g. TDD/FDD L1 frame structures, CoMP, Interference management
• Exposure to FAPI and nFAPI interfaces
• Working knowledge in Linux operating system environment including multi-threaded programming, atomic operations, core optimization, lockless Data structures and debugging tools like gdb, valgrind
• Good understanding in usage of DPDK and other fast path packet processing technologies
• Exposure to Agile methodologies in software development, Jenkins CI/CD and configuration management tools including Git, bitbucket
• Ability to drive/participate proactively in internal and customer facing meetings
• Deep knowledge of Telecom (IP, Broadband Access, SDN and NFV) and network management (OSS/BSS, TMF, NetConf/Yang) technologies is a must
• Experience developing data models and processes from requirements stage to detailed designs and guiding implementation teams

Qualifications:

• Ph.D/Masters / Bachelor in any discipline of Engineering (e.g., Computer Science)
• Must have experience related to the challenges with Network Management in production deployment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to document system designs and requirements
• Well organized with a strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude and comfortable with a fluid and fast-moving environment
• Must be fluent in English (writing and speaking)

Responsibilities:

• Enhance O-DU & O-CU for the given product specification
• Develop nFAPI interface and integrating with L1 meeting the key KPIs
• Co-work with System Design team in design and development of the CoMP algorithm study, simulation, selection of the algo, implementation and characterization in a field setting, and ensuring the end-to-end performance goals (Throughput, Spectral Efficiency, Latency, Robustness, Reliability)
• Debug highly complex (SW and HW) issues in end-to-end deployment scenarios in development/lab/field testing conditions and improve the system performance
