Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in the design of Data Center Systems Engineering, system architecture, controls, and integration.
• Experience coordinating work with outside design consultants on Data Center designs from layout construction documents.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a technical field.
• 10 years of experience in data center design, development, and construction.
• Experience with designing reconfigurable interfaces, and driving engagement with external vendors for evaluation of modular products.
  
  

About The Job

As a Data Center (DC) Systems Architect on the System Architecture team, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining critical DC system architecture and interfaces between and within product areas to enable modular introduction and incremental phasing of technologies into the data center fleet.

In this role, you will lead investigations and innovations in flexible building layouts that balance minimizing day one impact, while maximizing scalability in incremental phases and efficiency of overall space utilization for master planning.

Additionally, you will drive development of solutions with our architectural/engineering (A&E) partners. You’ll play a key role in driving, influencing, and evolving the strategy to adapt to a modular, multidisciplinary product development approach to system architecture design and evolution.

Responsibilities

• Take market requirements as input, define Data Center systems and configuration to enable functionalities or applications, using the available product portfolio and industry standard kit of parts.
• Define strategy and roadmap for development of modules or products based on business requirements and to enable tech insertion.
• Coordinate work with outside design consultants on Data Center designs, specifically design progress from schematic layout through construction document creation.
• Collaborate closely with leads working on product development in all product areas to coordinate overall product architecture and performance metrics.
• Manage partner engagements, specifically development of architectural layout concepts with Architectural and Engineering partners, and drive engagement with external vendors for evaluation of modular products.
