Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience in camera module design, development, module integration processes, or factory test and calibration
• Experience in one of the following imaging technology areas: optics and optical design, mechanical and optomechanics design, analog and mixed signal design, imaging algorithm, or image signal processing
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Experience in statistics and data analysis using MATLAB, Python, JMP, Minitab, or other similar software
• Experience in camera component and module manufacturing processes
• Experience in imaging system design
• Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills
  
  

About The Job

Our team is responsible for developing camera hardware for Google’s consumer products. As a Camera Module Design Engineer, you will drive the definition, design, development, and integration of high-quality camera components and modules into Google’s consumer products. You will have the responsibility of the entire life cycle of camera projects including both technology and product development.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecting design of camera hardware system and module design and development from initial concept phase to production.
• Define testing, calibration, and qualification plans of the camera components, modules, and system at different stages of the development, from concept to product ramp, and execute the development with multiple third-party vendors.
• Lead camera technology innovations that have significant cross-functional impact, and work with external vendors and partners to advance camera component and module technology for our products.
