Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of Computer-aided Design (CAD) or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design experience.
• 5 years of working experience with Cadence PCB Design tools.
• Experience setting up Allegro Constraints Manager tools.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacture) Tools (Valor, CAM350, Fab3000).
• Experience in consumer tablets, FPC design or any high complexity system board design.
• Proficient with high-speed and RF board designs or layouts. Familiar with high density ball-grid array (BGA), blind and buried vias.
• Proficiency in Allegro Skill Programming.
• Familiarity with all phases of hardware development including schematic entry, manually generated constraints, requirements of the constraints and board layout and working knowledge with mechanical design outline formats.
  
  

About The Job

In this role, you will work on fast-paced boards for smart home devices and complex high density PCB and FPC designs for tablets. You will work with Hardware, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers throughout the full product development life-cycle from proof-of-concept studies to PCB design execution using state of the art CAD tools and interface with suppliers and PCB vendors ensuring that all aspects of the design to produce a functional, cost-effective and reliable product are well considered.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to set up the mechanical outline, stackup and constraints of the board.
• Execute component placement and routing of rigid boards and Flexible Printed Circuits (FPC). Participate in design reviews providing expert recommendations as needed.
• Interface with vendors to select and use correct impedance rules, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Testability(DFT) rulesets.
• Generate manufacturing files and address any internal or external DFM feedback.
• Work with Hardware Engineers, PCB Designers, Mechanical Designers and Fabricators for development and sustaining of actual products.
