Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Consumer Hardware.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: DSP tuning, acoustics design, speakers, or microphones.
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python, developing automated test tools for objective audio testing.
  • Experience using audio amplifiers (e.g., smart PA, class D amp, class G amp), audio codec, audio DSP, etc.
  • Experience with Soundcheck, Audio Precision, HEAD Acoustics, Ares or Comsol. Ability to use industry standard schematic capture tools and layout implementations of responsible subsection.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

  • Define the audio subsystem for consumer electronics devices ensuring that product features and requirements and mapped to system design.
  • Evaluate audio amplifiers and microphones to ensure performance and features meet performance needs. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and drive vendors to meet our next generation requirements.
  • Help develop audio schematics and review printed circuit board (PCB) layouts to ensure best practices are maintained (e.g. bring up and validation of the design will be part of each design cycle).
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help deliver proper audio digital signal processing (DSP) tuning for telephony, speech recognition, and media playback use cases.
  • Contribute to our roadmap by investigating new technologies and delivering new features.
