The role of research analyst in Equity Research at JP Morgan Asset Management is based in Taipei, Taiwan to support senior research analysts in their efforts to generate positive investment performance. Research associate will be expected to do a wide range of research projects, from information gathering to financial statement analysis, and will assist senior analysts in the preparation of company review materials, industry presentations and valuation metrics. Successful research associates will demonstrate their ability to add value to the investment process.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources, including company reports, the internet, online databases like Bloomberg, FactSet, etc. and JPMorgan proprietary content.
  • Building, maintaining and analyzing financial models of companies and industries without errors in a timely manner; generating regular and one-off reports, graphs and datasets.
  • Building financial models independently and being able to explain key trends and assumptions.
  • Writing content (text, tables and charts) for company and industry reports and preparing presentations to be used internally; writing summaries of investment meetings, sector calls, and company meetings.
  • Maintaining regular contact with colleagues in the global sectors, taking part in conference calls and responding to project requests.
  • Assuming end-to-end responsibility for projects and presentations.
Essential Skills / Qualification
  • Extensive coursework in Accounting, Finance, and Economics would be preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Analytical aptitude and ability to learn financial concepts
  • Strong Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Close attention to detail and ability to work to very high standards
  • A strong motivation to learn and manage projects independently
  • Passion for and interest in investing
  • Understanding of Asset Management business and more specifically Investment Management business is preferable
